New Installation | Reciprocating Hydrogen Gas Compressor

This world scale hydrogen plant was a new project on a new site!

TurbinePROs provided multiple comprehensive turnkey field services including outage management and planning; a complete field services team to install a brand-new Dresser Rand 4BDC-OF12H single stage, 4 throw horizontally opposed reciprocating hydrogen gas compressor driven by a Hyundai HRN3 809-58E 4000HP 504 RPM induction motor.

The Hydrogen Compressor assembly required that it be delivered as three separate components on individual dedicated trucks and installation required extensive use of a crane and rigging to set the compressor components.

The mechanical contractor scope included the following activities:

• Measuring / verifying location of anchor bolts, laying out machinery centerlines, marking locations of soleplates, and supporting the preparation of concrete (chipping) for grouting underneath the compressor base frame and the soleplates.
• Setting and leveling the compressor base frame, motor soleplates, cylinder support soleplates, and discharge bottle soleplates.
• Checking and recording internal clearances
• Installing and aligning the drive motor to the compressor
• Preparation of the soleplates and equipment for grouting and supporting the grouting of the compressor, motor soleplates, and lube oil console
• Installation of the lube oil piping
• Equipment preservation
