Generator Inspection, Alignment & Bearing Replacement

The original project scope included a complete initial alignment and inspection unit 2 generator which had been experiencing high vibration levels in excess of design standards causing the shutdown of the unit.

Prior to TurbinePROs services, several attempts to correct the issue were performed. An intermediate bearing replacement was done but did not correct the vibration issue. Previous inspections identified a possible crack in one of the turbine runner blades, but NDE was never performed on the blade. It was also determined that the draft tube had fallen off and been replaced in the past.
